BOARD MEETING SCHEDULE FOR MARCH

The schedule for the Board meetings for this month is as follows:

Board of Stewards – Saturday, March 13th – 10:00 a.m. – Parish House Library

Board of Deacons – Sunday, March 14th  – 11:30 a.m. – Meeting House

    Church Council– Monday, March 15th – 6:00 p.m. – Parish House Library

New Haven Crypt Association - Wednesday, March 31st  – 4:00 p.m.                                     Parish House Library

HAITI NEEDS SHOES!  - good, sturdy shoes.  You can bring them to church or to the Parish House.

LENTEN BIBLE STUDY:  ON THE ROAD.  We often talk about faith as a journey, and indeed, scripture has numerous stories about people on a journey. Join us at 6:15 P.M. on five consecutive Wednesdays for a Bible study, based on passages about people on a journey.  Potluck will be at 5:30.  Parish House Library.

March 3:  The Story of Jonah:  Jonah 1-4

March 10:  Jacob returns home and wrestles with an angel:  Genesis 32

March 17:  The Prodigal Son:  Luke 15: 11-32

March 24:  On the Road to Emmaus:  Luke 24: 13-53

FAITH FORUM: Join us on Tuesdays at 10 A.M. in the Parish House Library. We are continuing to read, What’s So Great About Christianity, by Dinesh D’Spuza.  The book is a defense of Christianity and the belief that faith can be reconciled with reason and science.  

HOLY WEEK SERVICES: HOLY WEEK IS AT THE HEART OF THE CHRISTIAN STORY.  IT IS HARD TO APPRECIATE THE MEANING OF EASTER WITHOUT EXPERIENCING WHAT WENT BEFORE. 

Palm/Passion Sunday is March 28.  Children will process in with the palms, and at the end of the service the cross is carried in and the passion narrative is read. 

A Maundy Thursday service will be held on Thursday, April 1 at 7:30 P.M. Communion is celebrated and the church is darkened as the story of Jesus’ betrayal, arrest and death are read.

A Good Friday Service, the Seven Last Words of Christ, will be held at Trinity Episcopal from noon to 3:00 P.M. 

Easter Sunday is April 4.  Children will process in with the lilies. 

FAMILY ACTIVITY: SATURDAY, MARCH 6, 11 A.M. MAPLE SYRUPING (Details to follow)

In the event that the maple syrup is gone, we will have a movie and pizza at
the Parish House.  Movie:  And the Children Shall Lead, a family friendly
rated movie about voting rights in the south during the Civil Rights
campaign in Mississippi in 1964.

PRE-CONFIRMATION CLASS FOR AGES 11 AND UP:  SUNDAYS, MARCH 21, APRIL 25 AND MAY 9 IMMEDIATELY AFTER CHURCH.  WE WILL MEET IN THE PARISH HOUSE LIBRARY AND

LUNCH WILL BE  SERVED.
