2016 Charles Ives Concert

To commemorate the legacy of Charles Ives,  (1874-1954), who served as organist at the First Church of New Haven in the 1890s, the church offers an annual Charles Ives organ scholarship to a current graduate-level organ student at Yale School of Music. The recipient is chosen by Yale music faculty members and receives a scholarship check to support the costs of his or her education and professional activities. In addition, the Charles Ives organ scholar performs a recital at Center Church, which is open to the public and attended by members of the Yale and New Haven community.

This year's Ives Scholar is Mary Copeley, who has been practicing on the Fisk Organ at Center Church in preparation for Sunday's recital.
