Jeremiah 31: 1-6: God promises to be with Israel and rebuild the nation. But the term Israel in this text suggests a great and wide inclusiveness.
John 20: 1-16: Mary Magdalene goes to the tomb, where Jesus is buried and discovers that it is empty. After telling two of the disciples, she stands weeping, outside the tomb, and is confronted first by two angels and later by Jesus.
SERMON: Why Are You Weeping? Why does anyone weep outside a tomb. Isn't the answer an obvious one, and yet Mary will discover that the tears of sadness can turn into tears of joy.
